According to FightMetric Marloes Coenen came back from the largest striking deficit in Strikeforce history, having absorbed 238 total strikes and only landing 42 total strikes of her own. That more than doubles the previous record of an 84 strike deficit, achieved by Antonio Silva in his comeback win against Mike Kyle just three months ago.
Coenen's striking and countering was really crisp, taking the first round. After getting out of a real tight looking guillotine in the second Carmouche began to dominate with her wrestling, securing mount and pounding down. After being beaten down, Coenen came back in the fourth and locked on a triangle.
