WEC 39: Brown vs. Garcia was held on March 1, 2009 in Corpus Christi, Texas. The event aired live on the Versus Network.
WEC Featherweight Champion Mike Brown made his first title defense against number one contender Leonard Garcia. The originally announced title fight re-match between Welterweight champion Carlos Condit and challenger Brock Larson was canceled when Larson suffered an injury in training. It was then announced, that following this event, the WEC would dissolve their Welterweight division into the UFC.

Another solid WEC card. McCullough/Hicks, really stunk up the card, and not seeing Aldo fight a contender was a drag.
Pulver is okay as commentator, but not as good as Mir. Not to mention you will never have to worry about Mir having fought anyone in the WEC.
Agreed on most posts Kamander. Razor has looked a little gun shy in his past few fights. Mickle trying to strike with Aldo was just plain comical. Mickle is lucky he didn’t catch a bomb and go to sleep. He got off light. Lamas was impressive on short notice.
