Pete Sell had nothing for Brown.
Have we ever seen a ref stop a fight and then start it again? Obviously it sucks that Yves mistakenly interrupted the fight, but personally I’d rather that he order the fight to resume instead of insisting that the fight be over even though he realized he made a mistake.

I forget which fight, but Herb Dean did a similar move, although he came in behind the dominant fighter and only briefly touched them, so there was less confusion.
We have frequently seen referees jump in too early and stop the fight. If that occurrence is a given, I would rather that the referee quickly allow the fight to continue than adamantly stand by his incorrect stoppage. Had the Yves never intervened prematurely, and only stopped the fight when he ultimately did, it would have been a perfectly reasonable stoppage. Sure Sell was rocked early, but he was still trying to fight back and deserved that opportunity. Obviously Brown felt jerked around since he could have potentially stopped the fight sooner, but he needs to get over it.
