Anderson Silva Speaks Perfect English According To Chael Sonnen

By Bryan Levick

In a seething interview on MMA Weekly Radio UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen called Anderson Silva a liar and blasted him for his supposed inability to speak English.

“You want me to let you in on a secret, Anderson Silva speaks perfect English. He just has such a low amount of respect for you and all the rest of the media that he pretends he doesn’t. I’ve had conversations with Anderson Silva in perfect English, and on top of that he’s so boring to listen to that he and his rocket scientist manager, Ed Soares, who is also about as exciting as watching grass grow, have decided that Ed is better on the mic than Anderson, so just let Ed do the talking.”

The media was also called into question as Sonnen could not understand how they could stroke the ego of Silva even though Sonnen says he detests them.

Sonnen went on to say that he expects to get a crack at whomever is holding the middleweight title if he is successful against Nate Marquardt at UFC 109.

Silva has long played the role of the perfect gentleman and fan loving mixed martial artist but there have been times when he seems to be either uninterested in whom the UFC chooses as his opponents as well as the fans disdain for his lackluster performances against Patrick Cote and Thales Leites.

Sonnen who trains with Team Quest isn’t buying into the fact that many consider Silva as the top pound for pound fighter.

In fact he went on to say that Silva is not the top fighter and basically said if he is then the myth about Bigfoot is indeed true.

After being contacted by MMA Weekly Radio, Soares at first jokingly claimed to have no knowledge of who Sonnen was but went on to say that Sonnen has always been a nice guy and is by no means a dumb person.

Sonnen is a good fighter but has never been considered a top contender. Soares threw some more verbal jabs Sonnen’s way, criticizing him for his losses to Demian Maia and questioned the authenticity of his victory over Paulo Fihlo in the WEC.

All of this will be a mute point if Sonnen gets defeated by Marquardt which is more than likely.

There is no known history between Sonnen and Silva so one would have to why Sonnen would choose to attack Silva while he was preparing to face another fighter.

Whatever his reasons are, he better pray that Silva doesn’t get his hands on him. If that bout were to happen, I think it’s safe to say we would see Silva looking to make a statement to anyone else who is looking to criticize him.
