According to FightMetric Nate Diaz and Marcus Davis’ combined 531 significant strike attempts (328 for Diaz, 203 for Davis) sets the new UFC record for most in a three round fight. They lag behind the overall record of 590 set by Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski, although that was a five round fight.
Diaz pitty-pat style and reach was enough. Getting outboxed by Nate Diaz is not a good thing. Davis looked like he had a tree growing out of the side of his face.
