According to FightMetric Jim Miller improves two spots to #7 on the list of leaders in significant striking defense. Miller avoided 80% of the strikes thrown by Kamal Shalorus.
Shalorus usual 'game plan' of winging telegraphed haymakers and absorbing counters with his chin didn't work well against Miller's elite level offense and defense. Miller was able to avoid the vast majority of Kamal's strikes, land effectively throughout the fight. At least as impressive was Miller's ability to take Kamal down and it was nor surprise that Miller was able to dominate Kamal once he got the fight there.
With Miller considered to not have that much power, and Shalorus' wild style and willingness to rely on a sturdy chin, I was glad to see Miller finish Kamal with strikes.
