Davis’ SApM is just 0.38, meaning that he takes a significant strike about once every three minutes. That is not just six times better than the UFC average, it’s twice as good as even the fighter in second place.
Davis came out throwing high kicks and setting up double legs with punches, but they were all getting stuffed. Meanwhile Nogueira was landing punches. In the 2nd round Davis switched to single legs and had much better luck. He was able to spend the majority of the last 7 minutes on top, doing moderate damage.
