According to FightMetric Frank Mir drops out of the top 10 for shortest average fight time. Mir’s decision win over Roy Nelson was his second straight outing to make it to the third round. Mir’s average UFC fight length is now 5:04, still good for 13th place, but no longer among the select few fighters whose average is less than one complete round.
Nelson came out with a good plan of pushing Mir up against the cage, where Mir has show some deficiencies. But Mir did really well landing knees in the clinch and landed many good take downs. Mir also got the better of the ground fighting, improving position and landing strikes.
