Maia came out with aggressive, but sloppy striking. Santiago's striking was a bit cleaner, but Maia did a good job clinching or shooting whenever the distance was close. Maia was able to land a bunch of takedowns, and control position for the most part, but never threaten with anything serious. Santiago did a good job keeping Maia off base with butterfly guard, but never had any serious offense.
