Werdum was able to punish Nelson with knees in the clinch early. Werdum had Nelson's back in the 1st round, but Nelson was able to escape. Nelson knocked Werdum down with a punch, but was not able to capitalize. He hurt Werdum a couple of times, but Werdum was able to get the better of the strikes with his reach.
