In a back and forth exciting fight, Albert was getting the better of the striking, but Mejivar threw some spinning techniques to close the distance and get the fight to the ground. From the bottom Albert was very flexible and active with submission attempts, but Menjivar was able to escape them. Albert kicked Manjivar in the face and it looked like Menjivar was hurt. Albert followed up and it looked like the fight was going to be stopped, but Menjivar got the fight back to the floor, got Albert's back and sunk in a rear-naked choke.
