Simpson was reluctant to throw his hands, while Markes out-landed him with combinations of punches and leg kicks. Simpson went for take downs but could not even control the clinch. He did hurt Markes bad with an uppercut, pounded on him for a while, but then let him back up. Markes managed to out-land and out-wrestle Simpson throughout.
