UFC 176: Aldo vs. Mendes II was scheduled to take place on August 2, 2014 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. It was to be headlined by Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes, but due to an injury suffered by Aldo, the fight was postponed. On July 8, 2014, it was announced that the entire event would be scrapped.
