Dream 12: The Cage of the Rising Sun, promoted by Fighting and Entertainment Group, took place October 25 at the Osaka Castle Hall in Osaka, Japan. The event marked the first time Dream used a hexagon cage. Fights consisted of three five-minute rounds, as used in the North American system, though elbows will remained illegal. Its a shame there weren't any good matches in this event. The white cage was really promising. I hope they keep using it.
We got to see the typical entrances and promotion we expect from Dream. The white canvas we all associate with Japanese MMA with 3 five minute rounds, no restarting of the fights to reposition the fighters, knees to the head on the ground and yellow cards. That's all quality stuff.
