WEC 48 betting this Saturday

event posterBy Travis Long

For all you WEC lovers WEC 48 will be very exciting. There are two championship bouts and belts on the line. The Featherweight Championship bout between Jose Aldo vs Urijah Faber will undoubtedly be the fight to watch. If you’ve ever had the pleasure watching top skill combine with supersonic speed these two guys have it. No real favorite here, well I guess the current belt holder should be but, Faber has owed this belt before. Good value in taking Faber at +220 as Aldo is at -300

The other Lightweight Championship belt match is between Ben Henderson vs Don Cerrone. I’ve watched Henderson fight a couple times before and he’s lightning quick. I don’t know too much about Cerrone but I assume he’s got a punchers chance. My opinion take young Ben Hendo at -115.

This card has one more bout that is really worth paying for Featherweight bout Mike Brown vs. Manny Gamburyan.

I don’t think many handicappers out there will waste their money on a -800 line which is exactly what it is for Mike Brown. He’s the better known fighter and the previous WEC Featherweight Champion. His opponent is no slouch and some might remember Manny from TUF 5 finale where he lost to Nate Diaz due to shoulder injury. He’s got a great ground game and should this fight go to the ground he’ll dominate. If he stays up he’ll get picked apart by Mr. Brown.

From a betting perspective take the value in Manny at +500 or more closer to fight night.
