Simpson's striking started out solid, but as Munoz's wild strikes started to land Simpson began to fade through the fight. Simpson had some good takedown, but he was never able to capitalize on them. He constantly gave opportunities for front headlock chokes, which Munoz was never defending, in favor of going for back control. He couldn't keep Munoz down. As the fight wore on Munoz really started to put it on Simpson.
