the only good thing from this fight that i saw was leben’s chin and bisping’s ability to stick to a gameplan. he said a decision win was his goal, and i know dana white hates that. leben indeed showed no change to his game, but it’s always impressive watching his chin in action. and yes indeed…how the hell does he keep getting post fight interviews after losses?
I really don’t fault Bisping for expecting to go to the cards. He was engaging and hitting Leben with hard shots, but whenever he over-extended himself and tried to really hurt Chris, he put himself in tons of danger. He engaged and hurt his opponent, and if he had a chance, I’m sure he would have tried to finish, but none of those heavy counter shots even put Leben to a knee.
This fight went down as expected. Unofortunately neither fighter showed us anything to indicate any sense of improved game planning.
Leben’s best quality seems to be his consistent ability to make the best of a bad situation in hos post fight interview.
