UFC 93: Franklin vs. Henderson was held on January 17, 2009 at The O2, Dublin in Dublin, Ireland. It was the UFC’s first event in Dublin.
The main event featured a light heavyweight bout between former UFC Middleweight Champion Rich Franklin and former PRIDE middleweight (205 lbs) and welterweight (183 lbs) Champion Dan Henderson, with the winner of this fight likely being the coach opposite Michael Bisping for the Ultimate Fighter Season 9.
The co-main event featured a light heavyweight rematch between returning stars, Mauricio Rua, the PRIDE 2005 Middleweight Grand Prix Winner, and UFC hall of famer and former Heavyweight Champion Mark Coleman.

I think the most relevant thing to come out of UFC 93, was that no one came out of this event a winner. Henderson didn’t look great, won a controversial fight, and has to drop down to 185, coach a season of TUF and fight Michael Bisping. Obviously Franklin also lost, however controversial it may be. Shogun looks like he will never be a contender. At least he’ll make a nice win for Liddell. Coleman looks like an old jalopy. Rousimar Palhares needs lots of work and improved cardio, Horn looks done as expected, despite a rousing near comeback late in the fight. Kang looked great until he stumbled, once again, into a submission he should not have. Belcher looked unimpressive the entire fight before he got lucky with the guillotine. Davis fought a nice fight, but did not dominate in a way that would indicate greater things to come. Lytle fought his typical all out brawl and lost.
So as entertaining as the card may have been, it was losers all around.
We got the 6 televised fights, which were a mixed bag at best, but we DIDN’T get:
TKO (Spinning Back Kick and Punches)
TKO (Punches)
TKO (Punches)
TKO (Punches)
Looks like the undercard was some decent action. Kudos to Siver on the spinning back kick…
